Director Search
The LTCS consists of
60-65 singers in the fall and 40-45 in the winter. Our programs
have a classical bent and tend to be a larger work in the fall
with some Christmas/holiday themed pieces. Examples are Darke's
In the Bleak Midwinter and Rutter's When Icicles Hang as
well as a PDQ Bach Christmas set. The LTCS performs lighter
music in the spring.
Candidates are
requested to submit a resume’ including references, to the LTCS
by email to jobee949@charter.net Candidates will be formally interviewed by the LTCS board and are also required to audition for the position by directing choir members in two numbers selected from the LTCS music inventory. 1) Directs all rehearsals and performances including sectional rehearsals if needed. 2) Supervises all matters of musical content and accompanist. --Selects musical repertoire appropriate for the community, membership abilities and within the guidelines set forth in the Mission Statement. -Recommends rehearsal and performance locations (fees subject to Board approval). --Selects and negotiates contracts with soloists and instrumentalists (fees subject to Board approval) by the last Board meeting before the concert. A written contract will then be presented to the guest soloists/instrumentalists. --Works in conjunction with the music librarian to buy, borrow or rent sheet music. 3) Submits to the LTCS Board of Directors plans for the coming season, including suggested concert dates and repertoire, no later than the June and December board meetings. 4) Provides a monthly progress report on concert preparation by attending the Board meeting or in lieu of attendance, submits receipts for any LTCS expenditures to Treasurer on a monthly basis.
